Fisher-7Dr. Galen Fisher is fellowship trained in Mohs, laser, and cosmetic dermatology. He received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and studied molecular oncology for 3 years with Nobel Prize winner Dr. Harold Varmus.

Dr. Fisher trained with three of the most well respected Mohs and Reconstructive Surgeons in the country, including Dr. Pearon G. Lang, past president of the Mohs College, Dr. Roy Geronemus past president of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and American Society of Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, and Dr. Joel Cook, assistant editor of Dermatologic Surgery. Over the last 8 years in Richmond VA, Dr. Fisher has personally reconstructed over 13,000 Mohs defects, most of them on delicate areas such as the nose, lips, eyelids and ears. He has published several peer reviewed papers on Mohs and reconstructive surgery and is diligent with regards to final cosmesis. His expertise as a cosmetic dermatologist and laser surgeon also allow him to optimize the results of skin cancer reconstruction.

After completing a dermatology residency in Charleston, South Carolina, with training by Mohs College Past President Dr. Pearson Lang, Dr. Fisher completed a Mohs Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology fellowship with Dr. Roy Geronemus.

Dr. Fisher has published numerous articles and lectured at national and regional meetings.
